As someone who’s been labeled a ‘bubblegum pop’ star, it may appear on the surface that Katy Perry is of the sensory preference. In my assessment though, she’s actually an iNtuitive, specifically ENFJ.
ENFJ’s primary function is extraverted feeling. This gives them an acute awareness of how other people feel.
Their auxiliary function is introverted intuition, which perceives patterns and is particularly useful in finding hidden insights. In combination with their extraverted feeling this gives them especially good intuitions about people and usually manifests in strong people skills.
ENFJs tend to have a very strong aesthetic sense and are, in my opinion, the best dressers and best interior decorators of all the 16 types.
“Style is an expression of individualism mixed with charisma. Fashion is something that comes after style.”
They care deeply about other people and how they make them feel as well as how they’re perceived themselves.
“I don’t want to be above my audience; I want to be one with my audience.”
“I’m really critical of my posture, it makes a big difference. And I try to suck my belly in. Everyone should do that whether you’re on a red carpet or not. Even if you’re just going out to dinner with your boyfriend you should try and suck it in.”
Introverted intuition tends to manifest in an orientation towards possibilities in the future and people who use this as their primary perceiving function, such as ENFJ tend to be less ‘in the moment’ than those with SP in their 4 letter type code (such as ESFP).
I never live in the present. I’d do interviews and people will say,’Isn’t this great?’ or ‘Can you believe?’ And I would react, like, ‘No, I can’t believe it because I’m not living in this moment.’
ENFJs who are able to develop their extraverted feeling and introverted intuition are capable of using their creativity to inspire and move people. My guess is that you’ll see more of this from Katy as her career progresses.
Thanks to @giovannic for suggesting Katy Perry as ENFJ.
