In this profile we’ll take a look at Celine Dion, one of the biggest stars in music for the past two decades. Celine has one of the more rare personality types in popular music, especially for a woman, ESTJ.

One of the more pronounced traits of an ESTJ is that they tend to be natural leaders and are most comfortable when they’re in charge. This is a trait that types with E and J in their 4 letter code have in common. For ESTJs in particular, this is due to their dominant Extraverted Thinking function.

“I am the youngest of 14 children, so I rarely got a chance to speak. If I have an opportunity for talking, I talk.”

Extraverted thinking compels them to organize the outside world according to what they believe will produce the best results. For an ESTJ, this is coupled with their auxiliary process, Introverted Sensing.

Introverted Sensing is how an ESTJ perceives information. This is essentially a process by which sensory information is recalled and represented in the mind. Types who use this function as their dominant perceiving process tend to seek out reliable information and prefer to stick what’s been tried and proven as opposed to what’s radical and new.

“The craziest thing I’ve done is cut my hair blonde and short a couple of years ago. And people reached out to me saying, ‘Celine, you’re one of the most stable things we have in our lives, don’t do that. We want you the way you are.'”
